Privacy Notice

Iroli Career Pathway · Last updated 2 October 2026

This notice explains what Iroli Career Pathway collects when you use it, why, and who can see it. It's written in plain language on purpose — if anything is unclear, contact us using the details at the bottom.

What we collect

That's it — no ID numbers, no home address, no financial or payment details are ever collected by this tool.

Why we collect it

Only to run the tool itself: personalising your subject and career guidance, matching you to careers and real degree programmes, calculating your APS, and letting your school's admins manage classes and licences. Nothing is used for advertising, and nothing is sold.

Who can see it

No other learner can see your data. It is never shared with advertisers or sold to third parties.

How long we keep it

For as long as your account is active, and for 3 years after that — after you leave your school (graduate, transfer, etc.), or after you stop using the tool if you're not affiliated with a school — in case of admin queries during that window. After that, it's deleted.

Your rights

You (or, if you're a minor, your parent/guardian) can ask to see, correct or delete your data at any time. Contact sihlangudelso@gmail.com — deleting an account removes that learner's data entirely.

About consent

This notice explains what Iroli Career Pathway does with your data once you use it — it doesn't replace the consent process your own school already runs for the tools it introduces. If you're unsure whether your parent/guardian has been informed, check with your school before creating an account.

How it's kept secure

Data is stored with Supabase and protected by database-level access rules (Row Level Security), so learners can only ever read their own data, and class admins can only see learners in the classes they manage (Institute admins can see every learner).

This notice is written to be clear and accurate, but it's engineering-level guidance, not a substitute for formal legal advice — if Iroli Career Pathway moves beyond a small pilot, have this reviewed by someone qualified in South African data protection law (POPIA).
